WRAC Receives Ohio History Fund Grant
WRAC was pleased to be one of 12 community history organizations awarded a grant from the Ohio History Fund, a program of the Ohio History Connection. Now in its 13th year, the Ohio History Fund is a competitive matching grants program and one of six “tax check-off” funds found on Ohio’s income tax return forms. It is funded in part through Ohio taxpayers’ voluntary contributions.
The grant provides $19,975 to work with collections of congregations in Ohio to rehouse oversized manuscripts, blueprints, aerial photos and artwork in preparation for the new heritage center. WRAC’s staff is committed to working with congregations to prepare their materials in advance of their move to the future heritage center. Oversized materials require separate assessment from typical files and special supplies. This funding will provide staffing support and professional archival supplies to ensure these materials are adequately assessed, included in finding aids, and properly stored.
We are grateful for this generous grant, which will contribute to the professional standard of archival preservation that WRAC is committed to upholding for all the collections in its care.
