WRAC Celebrates $5.5 Million Gift from the Sisters of St. Benedict, Crookston, MN

We are pleased to announce that the Benedictine Sisters of Crookston, MN, have made a generous five-year gift to WRAC to support construction and endowment of our Heritage Center. Upon announcing this major lead gift, Benedictine Pastoral Administrator Jennifer Mechtild stated, “Given the varying financial circumstances and current projects in many monasteries, we realized everyone was not able make a large gift. We make this gift to lift everyone up with us.”

The sentiment of the Crookston Benedictines touches the very heart of the project and its driving force since inception. We are witnessing to the gift of collaboration with one another. Not one congregation or group can do this alone. It is not simply pulling together our multi-charism archival collections under one roof, but seeing the value of sharing our time, talent and treasure to preserve our work to date and to inspire our work for the future.

“This gift has been a game-changer for our campaign. We are so grateful to the Benedictine Sisters for their generous support of the project and for their enthusiastic response to the work and vision of WRAC,” said Executive Director, Susan Durkin, OSU. “We hope that this belief in our project spurs donors beyond our partner congregations to give as generously.”

All our partner congregations have been incredibly generous, providing amazing financial support to build and endow our Heritage Center. Our partners have a tremendous belief in this project and their contributions are a testament to their faith in our vision. We pray for all our partners and the sacrifices they make to assist others.
